2016 Biking For Baseball Team Ride

2016 Team Ride

Or Maybe We Could Go This Way!

The Biking for Baseball team ride of 2016 rolls out of Chicago Illinois on June 12. Heading straight west through Illinois and pushing on into Iowa. The team will continue to chase the sun for 170 miles all the way to Des Moines. From Des Moines the team heads south into Missouri before coasting into Kansas City on June 17th.

Both ends of the journey are highlighted by kids clinics in partnership with a local youth mentoring organization. June 11th in Chicago and June 18th in Kansas City. Even if you’re not part of the ride all are invited to join us for our kid’s clinics and see first hand what mentoring looks like!

Each of our riders is charged with personally covering their own ride expenses. So fundraising and donations go entirely to aid in program and outreach costs for Biking for Baseball during the 2016 season. Read about each rider and contribute to their campaign below. If you’d like to join up, sponsor, or help out give us a call! We’d love to add to the team.

Where do donations go?

Your donations go to covering event and promotions costs. This year Biking for Baseball will be hosting 3 kids clinics in partnership with BBBS Chicago, BBBS, KC, and BBBS Denver. Events are built to energize and reward existing match relationships and be used as recruiting platforms to showcase what mentoring looks like to new potential mentees interested in volunteering.

Adam (on the left) was one of the original schemers of B4B. He was a rider in 2012 and now serves as Chairman of the Board for Biking for Baseball. Rex Roberts

Since doing the ride in 2012 Rex has been busy. He not only grew a beard and bought a tiny house, but also built this website and convinced the Biking for Baseball board to allow him to sit as Executive Director.

Matt, or “GoldenBoy” as he’s called around the office, did the ride solo in 2015. Matt’s unwavering mental determination is matched only by his desire to consume things made in Wisconsin.

Cory Palencia

Corey knows next to nothing about cycling, or baseball as far as we can tell. But he does laugh a lot, and he keeps showing up to things. Corey did the Arizona leg in 2014 in support of Matt and is back for another round!

Tim is new to the Biking for Baseball lineup. A Chicago native, Tim is a young gun with big dreams and a lot to prove. And unfortunately he’s a WhiteSox fan.
