On Deck Sep/Oct
Any day now… any day now.
We have a couple events coming up that we’d like the world to know about. And I mean… the WORLD!! So tell everyone. And you should come by too, cause we are going to give out something FREE if you come to one of our upcoming events and mention our blog/facebook/twitter updates.
- Tour de Fat!!
If you haven’t done this event before, well then this is the year for you to jump on board. Thousands, yes thousands, of urban dwellers hop on their bikes and saunter through some of America’s biggest cities dressed in some of the wildest costumes you have ever seen. Bicycles with stereo systems, cookie monsters eating cookies, 10-foot tall bicycles, truck tires on bicycles, and hipsters galore are just a few things you are almost guaranteed to see on this holiest of days. Put on by one of the raddest and most progressive breweries and one of Biking for Baseball’s favorites, New Belgium Brewery; the aim is to bring the “biggest, most enjoyable traveling bike festival that we know of.” Yeah, we’re there! Check to see if they are doing one in your city at – http://bit.ly/aVgeZu
2. 5k in Greeley
The Biking for Baseball team has just signed on to help put on their first 5k! But shhhhhhhhhh!! This one is SUPER secret right now. All I can tell you is that it’s in Greeley, and it’s a trail run through a ghost town… ooooooooh!
3. Sports Buddies Denver Event (Associated with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado)
How about working on some baseball techniques?? Need to practice sliding into 2nd for a stolen base? Well then, let’s really get into it… with a Slip ‘N’ Slide!! Pop flies are getting the better of you in the outfield?? Is it the sun? A bird?? Superman?? Let’s get after it and practice catching water balloons from a slingshot! Eye-hand coordination not working out and Lasik isn’t an option?? Spin-o-rama with your forehead on the bat and THEN take a cut at a wiffle ball. That ought to help. Our next event with Sports Buddies will be focused on the practicing the finer points of the game, in a fun-filled way! Can’t wait!
We just finished our first event partnering with Sports Buddies, and we’re ready for another one! This will actually be a recurring event every 2-3 months from here on out for the B4B team. So be sure to follow all of our events with Sports Buddies. If you would like to become a Sports Buddy, are interested in learning more about the program, or want to just be involved with an event with Sports Buddies and/or Biking for Baseball, come to one of our events!
