Thank you to our Bay Area hosts!
Like the steep hills of San Francisco, our time in the Bay Area was filled with lots of ups and downs. We loved seeing the city, going to great ballgames, hosting our first double-header of events, and seeing family and friends. Unfortunately, we lost our support vehicle, had 2 of our bikes stolen, and spirits were a bit low at times.
Our future was uncertain but we were fortunate enough to have some family and friends nearby to help. Mike, Sarah and Christina told us to keep our heads up, and reminded us why we are on this trip in the first place. Suddenly two stolen bikes seemed like smaller issues (if even issues at all) compared with adversities that others face in everyday life.
Staying with Mike and Sarah in Marin County was a huge help, as they allowed us to keep our equipment at their house while we figured out our next move. They fed five hungry guys, let us borrow their vans used for their own business, showed us the beautiful surrounding area and made us feel at home. This helped put our minds at ease during uneasy times; all the while, taking care of their newborn, Finn. We owe them a huge thank you and would have been lost without all their support.
Thank you to our friends in the San Francisco area that provided a huge amount of support. Matt, Andrew, Adam, Morten, Hadiyah, Wade, Will and Molly. We’re so glad we got to see you in your city, and we can’t wait to come back with our bicycles again! Thank you for your support! B4B ON!
